The Cross-Traffic Alert feature that is in the new Ford Taurus is designed to be your eyes far off in both directions as you are driving the vehicle in reverse. If the radar sensors do detect an oncoming vehicle, first you get a flashing light on the side mirrors followed by sound alerts to get your attention to stop.
If you activate the Enhanced Active Park Assist feature that comes with the Ford Taurus, sensors are going to begin to scan the road for the right parking space. Once one is found, you'll be prompted to brake, accelerate, and shift, your vehicle is going to steer itself perfectly into that space for you.
