Every road experiences the wear and tear of the seasons, often leaving behind some potholes as evidence. While potholes are annoying, they actually pose a real safety risk and can seriously damage your rims and suspension system. If you’re fed up with having to dodge potholes all spring, the engineers at Ford are excited to introduce a feature of the 2017 Fusion Sport: Pothole Mitigation.
Hate #potholes? So do we. That's why the new 2017 #Ford #Fusion Sport comes with sensors to detect and avoid them.https://t.co/ojdJ4pRwgT

Fitted with Ford’s new Pothole Mitigation system, the 2017 Fusion Sport is more than up to the challenge of helping you forget about potholes entirely. The shock absorbers in the Fusion Sport will automatically stiffen when sensors detect a tire rolling into a pothole. This allows the wheel to remain elevated as it goes over the hole, instead of dropping jarringly down into it and wreaking havoc on your suspension system. If the front wheel’s shock absorber is triggered, this also signals the back wheel’s absorber to spring into action, stiffening the suspension to allow the back wheel to pass smoothly over the hole as well, saving you worry and, potentially, the money that might have gone to costly repairs.
It’s possible you could find similar technology available in certain luxury brands, but the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport will be the first midsize sedan in its price range to offer such advanced safety features. Here at Victory Ford, we wouldn’t be surprised if this sort of innovative technology started to become industry standard, but as usual, we’re proud to see Ford blazing the trail.
